Satellite Notes for the 1200UTC chart on 24 November 2014

Issued at 11:57 pm EDT Monday on 24 November 2014

A broad mass of cloud with embedded thunderstorms covers large parts of northern, central and southeastern Australia. This cloud is associated with a low pressure trough and upper level trough extending from the north to southeast of the continent. The cloud band connects to a cold front crossing Victoria and Tasmania. Cooler southerly winds behind the front are resulting in areas of low cloud about the southern Australia coast. Isolated thunderstorm activity remains visible over the northern interior of Western Australia.
