Showers and thunderstorms are active across the Kimberley and Top End due to a
humid unstable airmass. Cloud is streaming from this region southeastward over
Queensland and eastern New South Wales to the southern Tasman Sea. This weather
complex is being driven by a strong upper trough over the eastern interior.

Cloud associated with a cold front is moving through Gippsland to the east of
Tasmania. Speckled cloud is visible behind the front over Bass Strait and
Tasmania which depicts a cold airmass. Southerly winds are bringing areas of low
cloud across the Bight and southern Western Australia coast.

Cloud associated with Tropical Cyclone "Kate" can be seen northwest of Western
Australia near Cocos Island.
