Satellite Notes for the 1800UTC chart on 22 November 2014

Issued at 5:16 am EDT Sunday on 23 November 2014

A broad mass of cloud covers large parts of northern and central Australia. This cloud is associated with areas of low pressure about the north and centre of the continent. Convective activity has eased somewhat overnight but isolated thunderstorms remain in many areas.

A surface trough extends from central Australia to eastern Victoria and then to the Tasman Sea. Patchy middle-level cloud cloud and a few isolated thunderstorms can be seen near to, and to the east of, this system.

A cloud band associated with a cold front is moving across the far southwest of Western Australia.
