A large mass of cloud extends from central Western Australia to south of
Tasmania. This cloud is associated with a trough of low pressure and a strong
upper level trough.

An area of cloud over southeast Queensland and the adjacent sea is being
generated by another trough in the middle levels of the atmosphere and a moist
onshore flow.

Some thunderstorm cloud is evident over the northern part of the country.
