The southeast of the mainland is affected by low cloud due to cool southerly winds ahead of the high pressure system. Cloud from a cold front can be seen near and over Tasmania.
In the west a low pressure trough is generating patchy cloud about the southern half of Western Australia.
The remainder of the continent is generally clear apart from some low cloud about the southeast Queensland coast.
