Cloud and thunderstorm activity over the Kimberley and Pilbara regions of
Western Australia is associated with Tropical Cyclone Kelvin. A broad area of
low pressure extends from southern WA to the Northern Territory Top End
producing further cloud and thunderstorm activity across much of the western and
central parts of the country. Middle level cloud ahead of the cold front can be
seen entering the Great Australian Bight.

Thunderstorms have developed over eastern Australia in an unstable and moist

A cold front lies across the Tasman Sea. Middle level cloud associated with the
cold front extends from southeast Australia to southern New Zealand.

To the east of Australia, cloud can be seen spiralling around Tropical Cyclone
Gita which is currently located to the southeast of Lord Howe Island.
