A band of patchy cloud with a few embedded thunderstorms extends from the
Kimberley region to western parts of South Australia and is associated with a
surface trough. Patchy low cloud also remains about western parts of WA in the
wake of a cold front which has slipped to the southeast of the state. Another
cold front is approaching from the southwest.

Low cloud over parts of southeastern Australia lies within a moist southerly
airstream to the west of a low over the Tasman Sea. A cloud band to the north of
the low is due to a developing trough.
