A strong cold front and rapidly intensifying low pressure system are crossing
the Bight generating a large cloud band with embedded thunderstorm activity. A
field of convective cellular cloud can be seen in the cold air behind the front.

An upper level cloud band is streaming down from tropical convection over
Indonesia to central Australia. This cloud is brought along by the upper level
subtropical jet stream.

While a weak cold front is crossing Tasmania resulting in some patchy low level
cloud over the state, which extends down to a low over the Southern Ocean.
