A broad area of thunderstorm activity is seen across central Australia extending onto southeastern Australia. These storms are triggered by a surface trough, with an upper level trough lying over eastern WA.
Thunderstorms associated with another trough are present through eastern part of New South Wales and about southern Queensland.
High cloud is also seen over much of eastern Australia, having been generated from thunderstorm activity over central Australia over the last few days.
In the south, a large mass of cloud is moving across Tasmania, Victoria and eastern parts of South Australia.
A high pressure system is maintaining mostly clear conditions across Western Australia apart from some areas of mainly high cloud about the southwest and thundersorms in the Kimberley region.
