A surface trough extends from the Pilbara district of Western Australia through
northern parts of South Australia and northeast parts of New South Wales to a
deepening low pressure system over the Tasman Sea. Thunderstorms can be seen in
the vicinity of the trough.

A moist north to northwest windflow covers a broad area to the north of the
trough, triggering thunderstorms over northern WA, the Top End in the Northern
Territory and the northern parts of Queensland.

Low level cloud ahead of a weakening cold front can be seen approaching Tasmania
from the west.
