A low pressure system in the Bight and its associated trough are producing an
extensive band of middle and high level cloud, stretching from northern Western
Australia, across southeastern Northern Territory, South Australia, and into the
Bight.

Colder air behind the trough is producing patchy middle level cloud over central
and southern WA, while higher level cloud streaming ahead of the trough is
pushing across New South Wales and Victoria.

Speckled, cold air cloud can be seen over the Tasman Sea in the wake of a cold
front now crossing New Zealand.

Areas of low level cloud are visible along the tropical east coast of Queensland
and also over northeastern NT in a moist onshore flow.
