An active area of cloud with embedded thunderstorms is over the Kimberley region
and the central interior of Western Australia.High and middle level cloud from
this area is extending southeast on to South Australia and Victoria ahead of a
cold front that is approaching Tasmania.

A strong upper level trough just west of WA is also helping to generate this
extensive cloud band.

Areas of low cloud are over the New South Wales and southeast Queensland coasts
from a moist onshore airstream.

Thunderstorm activity continues over the tropical north of the country.
