A strong cold front that links to a low pressure system to the south of New Zealand is moving across the northeast of New South Wales and continues to track towards the Tasman Sea. Troughs embedded in the vigorous southwesterly airstream behind this front are bring showers and isolated thunderstorms to Tasmania, Victoria and southern New South Wales.
Patchy high level cloud is visible over the Kimberley region of Western Australia. Areas of low cloud are over the southeast of Western Australia and the southern parts of South Australia in a moist onshore airstream.
Sub-Tropical Ridge stretches across the middle of the continent and maintains mainly clear skies.
