Satellite Notes for the 0000UTC chart on 28 August 2014

Issued at 11:42 am EST Thursday on 28 August 2014

Areas of cloud with isolated thunderstorms off the coasts of northeastern New South Wales and southeast Queensland are associated with a complex low pressure system and an upper level disturbance. Moist onshore flow has brought areas of low level cloud to eastern New South Wales.

A weak frontal cloud band is moving over Tasmania and a large band of cloud can be seen over southwest WA ahead of an approaching cold front.

The remainder of the country is mostly clear due to the presence of a high pressure ridge.
