Middle to high level cloud over Victoria and the southeast parts of South
Australia and New South Wales, is due to an upper level jetstream.

The cloud band stretching across Tasmania and into the Tasman Sea, is associated
with a cold front. Another cold front is approaching the southwest parts of WA.

Low cloud can be seen along the east coast in a southerly airstream.

The remainder of Australia is cloud free due to a high pressure system centred
over the central parts of New South Wales.

Ex-Tropical Cyclone "Raquel" remains slow moving near the Solomon Islands and is
generating broad areas of convective cloud.
