A strong cold front moving into the Tasman Sea and a deep low pressure system
south of Tasmania are evident. A surge of cold air behind the front is
responsible for a broad area of low cloud along the southern coasts.

Patchy high cloud can be seen drifting across the far north of the continent.

The remainder of the country is generally clear due to a ridge of high pressure
extending from the west into the central interior.
