A weakening low pressure system is located on the southern west coast of Western
Australia, producing cloud and showers over southwest WA and surrounding ocean
waters. Further high level cloud generated by the low is streaming through
Victoria and Bass Strait.

A middle level cloud band extends from northwest WA to the Bight, associated
with a trough. Cloud is streaming further through South Australia and New South

A broad ridge of high pressure is affecting the eastern states and the Northern
Territory. Low cloud has formed in moist air trapped under the high pressure
system over Tasmania. There are also some coastal showers along the Queensland
coast produced by moist onshore flow. The remainder of the area under the
influence of the ridge is mainly free of cloud.
