The monsoon trough is aligned off the northwest coast of WA extending across the
Timor Sea to the Gulf of Carpentaria and is generating thunderstorms. Cloudy
conditions and scattered thunderstorms persist across large parts of northern

Mid level cloud and thunderstorms across central WA is associated with a trough
of low pressure. Southerly winds are bringing areas of low cloud across southern

Thunderstorm activity in the centre of the continent is linked to an upper level

Clear skies are evident across most of southeastern Australia due to a firm
ridge of high pressure.
