An area of patchy cloud with a few embedded thunderstorms extends over central
Australia and is associated with a slow moving surface trough. A cold front and
its associated cloud band are crossing the southwest of Western Australia. The
coldest air behind the front is producing showers and thunderstorms, and is seen
crossing the southern coast of WA.

Low cloud lingers over parts of Tasmania, southern Victoria and near the New
South Wales coast within a moist southerly airstream. A deep low pressure system
is still rotating over the southwestern Tasman Sea, well to the east of
Tasmania.
