Satellite Notes for the 1200UTC chart on 22 August 2014

Issued at 11:41 pm EST Friday on 22 August 2014

A high pressure system over the southern Tasman Sea is directing a moist onshore flow and patchy low cloud onto the New South Wales coast.

Areas of low and middle level cloud can be seen over the southeast of Queensland with isolated thunderstorms over the central Queensland/New South Wales border. This is due to a weak surface trough and upper low.

A cold front and its associated cloud band are moving across the southeast parts of Western Australia and into the southwest parts of South Australia.
