The embedded thunderstorms off the New South Wales coast are due to a low
pressure trough over the western Tasman Sea. While patchy low cloud over
Tasmania, Victoria and New South Wales is due to the cool southwesterly

A cold front is moving across the Great Australian Bight, producing a middle
level cloudband and isolated thunderstorms near the Nullarbor coast.
