IDY28000 Australian Government Bureau of Meteorology Bureau National Operations Centre Satellite Notes for the 0000UTC Chart on 27 September 2016 Issued at 11:57 am EST Tuesday on 27 September 2016 A field of convective cellular cloud over southeast Australia is associated with the passage of a cold front. In the west, patchy cloud is observed over southwest WA ahead of an approaching cold front and thick cloud band. An upper level cloud band is streaming down from tropical convection over the Indian Ocean west of Java to central Australia and central Queensland. This cloud is brought along by the upper level subtropical jet stream. The remainder of the continent is mostly cloud free due to a ridge of high pressure centred over South Australia.
