Satellite Notes for the 1200UTC chart on 16 September 2014.

Issued at 1:39 am EST Wednesday on 17 September 2014

A trough stretches from the southeast of QLD and just off the NSW coast to a low just east of Victoria. The trough and low is producing a broad area of cloud with isolated thunderstorms. Cloud associated with the low is also affecting Tasmania.

Patchy middle level cloud with isolated thunderstorms about southern-central parts of WA and western inland parts of SA is due to a middle level disturbance.

A cold front and associated cloud band is moving across the south of the Great Australian Bight.

The remainder of Australia is mostly cloud free apart from some patchy low cloud about the far southwest of WA and also parts of the tropical coast of Queensland within a light onshore airflow.
