A strong cold front is moving across the Tasman Sea with a troughs embedded in the vigorous southwesterly airstream behind this front. Showers and thunderstorms in the wake of the front have moved off the NSW, VIC and Tasmanian coasts.

Areas of low cloud extend over the SA coast in a moist onshore airstream.

A patchy cloud band extends over the southwest corner of WA ahead of an approaching cold front.

A ridge of high pressure stretches across the remainder of the continent resulting in clear skies.
