A cold front is located extending from southeastern New South Wales to the east
of Tasmania. The front, along with a trough of low pressure, is generating an
extensive cloud band that stretches from northern Western Australia, through the
Northern Territory, Queensland and New south Wales to eastern Tasmania. Areas of
thunderstorm activity are evident throughout the band.

A mass of cold air behind the front along with an onshore airstream is bringing
low cloud to all southern coasts.
