A high pressure system located over New South Wales extends a ridge across the
country. Clear skies are evident across the eastern and northern interior of
Australia. Southeasterly winds are bringing areas of low cloud along the
Queensland coast while an upper trough is responsible for the cloud streaming
from north Queensland across the Coral Sea.

Further south, low cloud is visible over southern parts of South Australia,
Victoria, Tasmania and parts of NSW due to a westerly airstream. A cold front
embedded in the westerly airstream is approaching Tasmania.

Middle to high level cloud extends over southern districts of Western Australia
and the Bight while a strong cold front is visible to the southwest of Western
Australia.
