A series of low pressure troughs over northern and central Australia are
generating thunderstorms and areas of middle level cloud across the north of the
country, which extend through the interior down to the South Australian central
coast.

A moist northeasterly airstream, directed onto the continent's east coast by a
high pressure system in the Tasman Sea, is producing patchy low cloud along
coastal and adjacent areas in Queensland and New South Wales.

Further west, a weak cold front and its associated cloud band is crossing the
far southwest of Western Australia.
