Issued at 11:15 pm EST Thursday on 18 September 2014

A trough over the Tasman Sea is producing a broad area of cloud with isolated thunderstorms, while a cool southwesterly airstream behind the trough is resulting in areas of low cloud about the southeast of the country.

Patchy middle level cloud is evident over parts of western WA and also southern parts of the NT with a band of cloud extending from eastern SA into the western area of NSW. This cloud is associated with and upper level disturbance. The remainder of the Australian continent is relatively cloud free.
