IDY28000 Australian Government Bureau of Meteorology Bureau National Operations Centre Satellite Notes for the 1800UTC chart on 1 March 2015 Issued at 5:59 am EDT Monday on 02 March 2015 A trough of low pressure persists across inland areas of the Northern Territory and Queensland triggering some showers and thunderstorms. Areas of cloud with thunderstorms cover much of Western Australia extending into the Bight. This is due to an infeed of moisture and a developing upper trough to the west. An low pressure trough is moving up east coast. This trough has an associated cloud band that stretches southeastward to a cold front over the Tasman Sea. Areas of low cloud lie in the wake of the front over Tasmania and southern Victoria. Another cold front in the Southern Ocean is nearing the south coast of Western Australia. Thunderstorm activity continues over the tropical north of the country.
