A surface trough and associated upper level trough are generating an extensive
cloud band just off the Queensland east coast which extends to the North Island
of New Zealand and beyond.

Patchy middle-level cloud about the northeast of South Australia and adjacent
parts of Queensland, New South Wales and the Northern Territory is due to an
upper low.

An unstable southwesterly flow is bringing patchy low cloud to Tasmania,
southern Victoria and the east coast of New South Wales. A few thunderstorms can
also be seen just off the southern New South Wales coast.

A strong cold front and its associated cloud band lies to the west of Western
Australia.
