Cloud over southern NSW, Victoria, Bass Strait and Tasmania is due to a series
of surface troughs ahead of a weakening cold front. Westerly winds behind the
front are resulting in patchy areas of low cloud about the South Australian
coast and southern Western Australia coast.

Further north, southeasterly trade winds are resulting in areas of low cloud
along the east Queensland coast.

The remainder of Australia is relatively clear due to a broad ridge of high
pressure over the interior of the country.
