Areas of mid level cloud over Western Australia, South Australia and the Bight is due to an upper level trough and a jet stream. A cloud band associated with a low pressure system and weakening cold front is visible about the west coast of WA. A trough west of Tasmania is causing areas of cloud over the southeast.

Convective cloud and cold air remains over the Tasman Sea region due to a deep low pressure system. Convective cloud is also visible about tropical areas of the northwest.
