A ridge of high pressure extends along the Queensland coast and is associated
with a blocking high in the Tasman Sea. This system is maintaining a moist
onshore airstream and is generating patchy low cloud over eastern districts of

A cloud band is streaming through the interior of the country and extends across
NSW to the Tasman Sea. This is associated with an upper level jet stream and
continues to produce showers and areas of rain through NSW. 

Further south, a cold front is clearing to the southeast Tasmania while another
front is advancing into the Bight. This front extends further south to connect
with an intense low over the Southern Ocean. 

Mostly clear across the remainder of Australia apart from some convective cloud
about the northern Gulf of Carpentaria and Cape York Peninsula.
