A humid and unstable air mass combined with an active Monsoon Trough over
northern NT is resulting in extensive shower and thunderstorm activity across
the Kimberley, Top End and northern parts of the Gulf of Carpentaria.

Elsewhere a broad area of low pressure extends through the interior of the
continent with a surface trough triggering extensive areas of active showers and
thunderstorms through central parts of WA, southern NT, SA, and NSW with showers
slowly starting to clear VIC and TAS with a thick middle level cloud band still
extending over southeastern states.
