A trough extending from northwest Western Australia, through southern WA and
into the Bight is causing a band of cloud with embedded thunderstorms through
much of WA, extending across the bight to Tasmania. Extensive areas of cloud and
embedded thunderstorms also lie across large areas of northern WA, Northern
Territory and Queensland.

A high pressure system in the Tasman Sea is maintaining mostly clear conditions
across Victoria, South Australia and New South Wales. A cold front moving across
the Bight is producing a band of high and middle level cloud, mainly over ocean.
The cold air to the west of this front is producing large areas of speckled
