A jetstream and upper level trough is resulting in a mass of middle and high level cloud, mainly over Queensland, and connects with a trough over the Tasman Sea. Isolated thunderstorm activity is visible over central QLD as well as about the eastern coastline near the Gulf of Carpentaria.
Scattered thunderstorm activity remains visible over the Kimberley region of Western Australia and western parts of the Northern Territory.
Cloud associated with a cold front now lies east of Tasmania, while low cloud remains about the southwestern coast of Victoria and over Tasmania due to an onshore flow.
A streak of high cloud associated with a jet stream extends from the Indian Ocean across the central western coast of WA, while the remainder of the country is under mostly clear skies.
