A weakening low pressure trough over Bass Strait is bringing areas of cloud to
parts of Victoria. Patchy low cloud over Tasmania lies within the southeasterly
airflow to the south of the trough while the tail end of a cold front over the
Tasman Sea is moving up the south coast of New South Wales.

Moist onshore winds are resulting in areas of low cloud about southern parts of
South Australia. A cold front is also approaching the southwest of Western
Australia and low cloud in advance of this system covers parts of the Southwest
Land Division.

Further north, southeasterly trade winds are generating areas of low cloud off
the east Queensland coast. Areas of low and middle level cloud are also evident
about parts of the Top End and Kimberley regions.

The remainder of Australia is mostly clear due to a broad ridge of high pressure
through the interior of the country.
