A high pressure system located over New South Wales extends a ridge across
central Australia. Clear skies are evident across central and northern areas of
the country. Southeasterly winds are bringing localised patches of low cloud
onto the Queensland coast.

Further south, a cold front with its associated cloud band has moved over the
Tasman Sea. Patches of low level cloud are visible over Victoria and the west
coast of Tasmania in the westerly airstream.

In the west, a strong cold front is affecting southwest Western Australia. A
particularly cold air mass behind the front can be seen by the cellular cloud
over the ocean. Some patchy middle level cloud extends over southern districts
of WA and South Australia, and also southwestern NSW, due to a low pressure
trough.
