An extensive area of cloud about the west coast of Australia is primarily caused
by an upper level disturbance and surface trough.

Another surface trough is generating convective activity embedded in middle
level cloud over eastern NSW and central and south-eastern Queensland.

Isolated thunderstorms can also be seen near the Top End of Australia.

Isolated shower activity is persisting along the Queensland east coast in the
southeasterly trade flow.

The remainder of the country is cloud free under the influence of a high
pressure ridge.
