The mass of cloud over the southeast of Australia is associated with a broad area of low pressure which extends from the inland region of the continent to the southeast. A cold front is approaching Tasmania with associated band of cloud. Low cloud covers the southern coastal regions of Western Australia and South Australia due to a southerly onshore flow.
