Satellite Notes for the 1200UTC chart on 22 November 2014

Issued at 11:16 pm EDT Saturday on 22 November 2014

A broad mass of cloud with embedded thunderstorms covers large parts of northern and central Australia. This cloud is associated with areas of low pressure over the north of the continent.

A surface trough extends from central Australia to eastern Victoria and Tasmania. Patchy middle-level cloud cloud and isolated thunderstorms can be seen near to and to the east of this system.

Patchy low-level cloud lies about the far southwest of Western Australia within a moist onshore airflow ahead of an approaching frontal system.
