A trough extending from northwest Western Australia, through southern WA and
into the Bight is causing a band of cloud with embedded thunderstorms to much of
WA, extending across the bight to Tasmania. Extensive areas of cloud and
embedded thunderstorms lie to the north of a second trough that extends through
outback WA and the southern Northern Territory.

A high pressure system in the Tasman Sea is maintaining mostly clear conditions
across Victoria, South Australia and New South Wales. A cold front moving across
the Bight is producing a band of high and middle level cloud, mainly over ocean.
The cold air to the west of this front is producing large areas of speckled
