A band of middle to high level cloud extends from coastal South Australia to
Victoria and New South Wales into the Tasman Sea. This cloud is due to a low
pressure trough. A cold front now lies over the Tasman Sea, with a mass of cloud
extending southeastwards from the coast of Victoria/NSW.

A second, stronger cold front lies to the distant southwest of Tasmania. A
significant pool of cold air lies over the Southern Ocean behind this front.

Patchy low cloud over the Queensland's east coast is the result of the southeast
trade wind flow. An extensive area of low cloud can be seen over the southwest
WA and the Indian Ocean and is generated by moisture trapped under a high
pressure ridge.

The remainder of the country is mostly clear.
