Issued at 7:18 am EDT Saturday on 01 November 2014

A broad area of thunderstorm activity is seen across central Australia extending onto southeastern Australia. These storms are triggered by a surface trough, with an upper level trough lying over eastern WA.

Thunderstorms associated with another trough are present through northeastern parts of New South Wales and about southeast Queensland.

In the south, a large mass of cloud is moving across Tasmania, Victoria and southern NSW associated with a cold front.

High pressure ridges are maintaining mostly clear conditions across the remainder of the country.
