A broad area of middle and high level cloud is over the Northern Territory and central Queensland. This cloud is associated with a surface trough, with an upper level trough lying to the west.
A large mass of cloud over eastern New South Wales and the Tasman Sea is associated with a cold front. This front has cold air in its wake, presently over southern Victoria and Tasmania.
