Scattered monsoonal thunderstorm activity is evident about northern tropical areas. There is enhanced activity near a tropical low over the Coral Sea and a another low over the eastern Arafura Sea.
Scattered mid-level cloud is over middle and western areas of the country.
An area of cloud developing over southern Victoria, Bass Strait and Tasmania is associated with an moisture infeed supported by an upper level trough.
Low-level cloud over the Bight is trapped under a subsidence inversion created by the high pressure system.
