Scattered thunderstorm activity can be seen about northern tropical areas and over the Coral Sea. Particularly intense activity is associated with recently named Tropical Cyclone "Gillian" and also with a developing tropical low east of Cairns.
Thunderstorms are also occurring over central Australia, over the far southeast of New South Wales. A trough through inland parts of WA connects to a cold front to the south. The trough is also triggering isolated thunderstorm activity through inland parts of WA.
