Cloud with embedded thunderstorms over the western and northern parts of the
country is associated with surface troughs.

A cold front can be seen moving across the Tasman sea. Westerly wind flow behind
the cold front is causing low cloud over the coastal areas of Victoria and
Tasmania.

Cloud to the southwest of Western Australia is due to another cold front and
surface trough.

A high pressure ridge is keeping the remainder of the continent mainly cloud
free.
