An extensive cloud band with embedded thunderstorms is extending from the Indian
Ocean into the northwestern and central parts of the country. This is associated
with an upper level trough. A jetstream extends this cloud further eastwards
into the central Queensland.

A cold front south of the Bight is generating low to mid level cloud, which is
approaching Tasmania. Cold air behind this front is advecting low cloud over the
south coast of WA.
