Issued at 5:55 pm EST Saturday on 26 July 2014

An area of cloud over Victoria, New South Wales and Tasmania is associated with a low pressure system over eastern Bass Strait.

Another area of cloud extends from tropical QLD to the northern NSW coast, and is associated with a trough in the lower to middle levels of the atmosphere. Thunderstorms are visible over NE NSW, southern QLD and off the NSW coast.

An extensive cloud band moving over the far southwest corner of WA is associated with a vigorous cold front.

Some low cloud is visible over northern parts of the Northern Territory.

Remaining areas of the country are mostly clear due to a strong high pressure system.
