A cloud band with embedded thunderstorms extends from a low over central Western
Australia through northern South Australia and New South Wales to the Tasman
Sea. This is associated with a trough of low pressure. Cold air to the west of
this system producing large areas of speckled cloud near Tasmania. A cold front
is approaching WA from the west producing a cloud band.

A broad trough extends from southwest Western Australia through the Pilbara and
Kimberley regions and extends to the Northern Territory. Middle and high level
