A broad cloud band extends from northern parts of the Territory to northeastern
New South Wales and is associated with an upper trough. Isolated embedded
thunderstorms remain about the Top End and Gulf Country.

The remainder of Australia is mostly cloud free although a little high cloud is
streaming into the northwest Gascoyne and western Pilbara regions of WA from
Severe Tropical Cyclone "Kate" which remains slow moving to the west of the
Cocos Islands. A cold front is moving over waters well to the south of the Great
Australian Bight.
